JOIK Exfoliating Facial Scrub

JOIK Exfoliating Facial Scrub*, £16.50/75ml

This facial scrub from Estonian brand, JOIK, contains natural ingredients such as bamboo stem powder, sugar maple sap extract, coconut oil and shea butter. With a gritty cream paste formula, this scrub is housed in a screw-top jar and comes with a hygienic plastic spatula for dispensing. Only a small amount is needed per application, as this does go a long way. This product has a very delicate and inoffensive scent.

Please note that this product now comes packaged in tube form! I personally think this will be even better.
Applying to damp skin, massaged in circular motions, you will find this exfoliating scrub gentle enough for sensitive skin and for regular use. After rinsing off and patting skin dry, I find this scrub helps to gently remove dead skin cells, brighten my skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth! I really enjoy using this as my regular facial scrub!
Have you tried anything from JOIK yet?

The Last Few Months At A Glance

Hello! I haven't posted a life update since January and quite a lot has happened in the last few months, so I thought it was about time you got caught up with me!
Firstly, I just want to say that although I barely manage one blog post a week at the moment, I am still passionate about my blog and am doing my best to update it when possible - life is just so busy at the moment!

Let's go back to the very end of February, when I made the spontaneous decision to join an online dating site - the only intention I had was to just "have a look" and I thought, "Why not?!". I was surprised to get a few messages from local people in my area, and chatted to a few of them to see if we had any common interests e.t.c.
One person in particular stood out to me; we clicked immediately and we were chatting away so easily and openly. We felt there was a mutual connection, so we arranged to go on a date together! I was so nervous, but also really excited. Considering my situation at the time, it felt quite surreal! We met on the first Tuesday in March at a local park to go for a walk and then headed off to a local Indian restaurant for a meal. We had been chatting pretty much 24/7 for about a week before we met up, so this made the face-to-face meeting a little less daunting! When I met Ian, there was an instant spark and he was so easy to talk to. We laughed a lot during our walk - we couldn't have picked a muddier day! We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Indian, although I couldn't eat much due to my nerves, and being a perfect gentleman, Ian paid for us both. The evening ended in a kiss (ok, a few!) and we made plans to meet up again at the weekend. Neither of us wanted to part and say goodbye! Somehow, in amongst us both working during the week, we met up several times before the weekend! We enjoyed more dates and spent a lot of time together in a short space of time. He even planned a surprise getaway to Inverness, where we enjoyed a couple of days together; we stayed at a lovely little B&B, ate a delicious meal at an Italian restaurant, enjoyed a cocktail at a local bar, spent hours browsing the shops and ended the trip with a visit to Nairn beach on the way back!
Fast forward three months and Wilson and I are currently living with Ian at his little coastal cottage, while my own place is being renovated. We are completely and utterly in love with each other, we are so comfortable in each other's company and everything is just so effortless! It feels amazing and I can honestly say that this is the happiest I have ever felt in my entire life. We usually only get to see each other for a few hours each weekday, so every moment is precious and cherished. We have a trip to London planned next week to celebrate Ian's sister's 30th birthday, so we are really looking forward to that! We also have a dog-friendly holiday in Fife planned in September, so that's another trip to look forward to! When my cottage is all ready - hopefully by October, Ian, Wilson and I will be moving in together there! We are really excited and it's been great making plans together on how the cottage will look once it's finished.

So, I guess you could say that life is pretty damn awesome! I still can't believe how lucky we were to find each other, and although we've only been together for 14 weeks, it feels like we've known each other for years!

I hope all of my readers are enjoying happiness in their lives too, because we all truly deserve it!
Love,
Emma xxx
