JOIK Pastel Pink Lip Balm

JOIK Pastel Pink Lip Balm*, £5.50/7g

My favourite type of lip products are those which hydrate and protect lips, while giving a flush of colour. This lip balm from Estonian brand, JOIK, contains ingredients such as cocoa butter, avocado oil and jojoba oil, ensuring your lips are kept moisturised and cared for. This leaves them silky soft and nourished.
As well as keeping your lips looking in tip top condition, this lip balm also leaves a sheen of pastel pink shimmer behind. This is perfect for everyday use and great as a finishing touch for a natural make-up look. I love the classic black, glossy packaging and twist-up applicator. There are lots of other products I'd love to try from this brand!

Ingredients:
Cera alba, orbignya oleifera seed oil, persea gratissima oil, ricinus commuunis seed oil, simmondsia chinensis seed oil, theobroma cacao seed butter, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499.

Organic September: Madara Multi-action Micellar Water

Madara Multi-action Micellar Water*, £12/100ml

Certified organic by EcoCert, this 99% natural micellar water is the perfect answer to quick, effective cleansing. With the same minimal effort and ease of cleansing wipes, but much more gentle and effective!

I've been eager to find and try a natural micellar water for ages! Madara have certainly filled the gap for this product in the natural and organic beauty world. With sleek, minimal packaging and a user-friendly dispenser, this gluten-free, vegan-friendly cleanser is a lazy girl's dream! The plastic container is recyclable and the product is cruelty-free and free of any chemical nasties.
With hyaluronic acid, aloe vera and Northern peony extract, this product gently dissolves make-up and removes any trace of daily grime. Using a re-usable cotton pad, the product is gently swiped over face, eyes and lips, leaving skin refreshingly cleansed and toned, ready for applying your serum and/or moisturiser. This micellar water is aimed at all skin types and I've had no irritation at all with my sensitive skin, which is great! If using an oil or cream-based cleanser, this would also work well as a double cleanse, removing any build-up of product.

Organic September: Epic Blend Hemp Banana Lip Balm

Epic Blend Hemp Banana Lip Balm*, £3.99/4.2g

I love a good lip balm and I'm never without one. I've got quite a collection at the moment. Currently taking the lead in the favourites category is this cruelty-free, organic banana lip balm, which although not currently certified organic, is  made with organic hemp seed oil, organic beeswax, organic coconut oil and organic sunflower oil. It smells divine! The formula is silky smooth and glides onto lips without leaving a greasy residue. It feels really moisturising and protects my lips from getting dry or chapped. The packaging is vibrant, bold and modern, which I love. The scent is a sweet, artificial banana aroma, which reminds me of those banana foam sweets. Epic Blend is a Canadian brand and they also have a vegan lip balm range available.

What's your go-to lip balm at the moment?

Organic September: Eco by Sonya Coconut Roll-on Deodorant

Eco by Sonya Coconut Roll-on Deodorant*, £15.20/60ml

I've recently been testing out this natural, organic and vegan-friendly roll-on deodorant. I've been using a balm deodorant for some time and fancied trying out a more practical option. I love the packaging and the roll-on design of this deodorant. The scent is quite pleasant and I'd agree that it is unisex. The formula is gentle and I've experienced no irritation while using this deodorant, which is a big plus.
Unfortunately, this deodorant didn't perform as well as I'd hoped it to. Even with applying it a few times throughout the day, it didn't prevent or help to mask body odour. Yes, we've had unusually hot weather here in Scotland and I've been through some rather stressful times recently, but these are the crucial moments where you need to be able to rely on a really good deodorant! Sadly, this was not the one for me. Perhaps it would perform better during the winter months, but ideally I want a practical deodorant that works all year round. For me, this product may serve better as a quick freshen-up option when out and about or as a deodorant on quiet, do-nothing days.
Ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice* Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract* Sodium Bicarbonate** Ethanol** Coconut Flavour** Glycerin* Lavender Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract* Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract* Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtra**
*ORGANIC MATERIAL 87% **NATURAL NATURAL 13%

What's your favourite natural deodorant?

Organic September: Botanicals Skincare

If you weren't already aware, this month is also known as Organic September; raising awareness about the great benefits of following an organic lifestyle. To kick off this month's organic-centered blog posts, I'm going to be talking about the lovely, certified organic and vegan-friendly skincare brand, Botanicals.
Handmade in small batches in the UK, Botanicals uses only the most natural, organic ingredients in their wonderful range of skincare products. Their products smell gorgeous, give great results and the packaging is just beautiful! I've been really lucky to have had the opportunity to try various products from this brand and I've been impressed with each one!

I recently introduced Botanicals to my eldest sister, who is a beauty therapist. She is now introducing a range of Botanicals products to coincide with Organic September and is currently running special offers on facials and reflexology. I was the first person to experience a Botanicals facial in her beauty room - earlier today, in fact - and it was a really lovely experience! I'd highly recommend sourcing a local beauty salon that uses Botanicals products - you won't be disappointed! And if you happen to live in Aberdeenshire, be sure to check out Beyond Beauty!
Currently in my stash, I have the Rose & Camelia Cleansing Melt*, the Wild Rose & Rose Geranium Nourish Body Polish* and the Rose Clay & Rosehip Revitalising Mask*. I have loved and reviewed both the cleansing melt and the face mask. I will be reviewing the body polish soon!

Do let me know if you've tried any Botanicals products - any must haves?!
Love,
Emma xxx
