My Week In Pictures

Monday:
I started the day with a latte macchiato and some porridge. With a peppermint tea and a mandarin on the side. I watched Coronation Street, then applied a face mask before showering. After my shower, I applied this body balm, which has a warm, nutty scent and sinks in quickly. I did some washing-up, tidying and took some blog photos. I had fresh butternut squash soup with warm, crusty rolls for my lunch, while I watched the latest episode of British drama, Thirteen. Oh, and I also had a triple chocolate cookie that Dean brought home for me!
I decided to do some de-cluttering in our bedroom, and then became side-tracked and sat looking through old photos for a while. But, in doing so, I finally filled a collage-style photo frame we were given as a wedding gift! It's not exactly how I want it yet, but it will do for now. It felt really strange looking back at photos of us when we first got together! Before I knew it, it was time to make dinner, so the rest of the de-cluttering would have to wait till another day. I had a spinach and courgette frittata, while Dean had breaded fish. Both were served with homemade chips, green beans and carrots. We shared this chocolate bar afterwards - unfortunately the peanut butter element wasn't very strong, but we still enjoyed it. We watched an episode of American Dad, then The Salvation.

Tuesday:
My day started a little later than planned, but I had a healthy breakfast, watched some TV, then showered. I did some cleaning and worked on blog posts. My friend came round for a coffee and then we went for a 90 minute walk in the afternoon - it was a lovely, warm day and I got some great photos. The lambs were adorable, bounding around the field! We've planned more walks for the coming weeks. Let's hope the weather stays dry! After I'd been home a while, I made myself and Dean a hot chocolate, as we both felt chilly. Dean had chicken wraps for tea, while I had pasta with red onion and garlic and a side salad. I grated some vegan VioLife cheese onto my pasta - I think I liked it, but I'd like to experiment with it more before I decide. We watched an episode of Modern Family and then The Walking Dead. When Dean went to bed, I watched a couple of Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners episodes and placed an online order from Big Green Smile for some cleaning products.

Wednesday:
I had a chilled day on Wednesday. I enjoyed Kromland Farm organic tea at breakfast, along with a bowl of organic vanilla yoghurt, topped with fresh banana and nectarine. I did a little laundry and then played Tomb Raider for a couple of hours. After lunch, I watched some TV and then a Spanish film, Sidetracked which was a nice, laid-back watch. I had pizza for tea and we watched Gotham.
Then it was time for baking; for a charity bake sale at Dean's work. I made over 20 chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel icing and topped them with mini eggs or chocolate buttons! I, of course, kept a few back for us to enjoy the next day. I was pretty tired after all that, so I went to bed early and read some of my book.

Thursday:
I had a slow start to the day, but did clean the microwave using just water and a lemon. Not bad, eh? I had a lovely latte to start the day off and I watched the latest episode of Coronation Street. I had a late morning bath with a new product from Skin Blossom - it was lovely! I finished my book, at last.
I then tackled the washing-up from the baking escapade the night before. I had a vegan cheese toastie with BBQ sauce for lunch - it was pretty good! I decided to face the ironing basket and watched numerous episodes of Stella while I did it. I cleared out my baking cupboard and threw away lots of expired items, oops! Dean went to see 10 Cloverfield Lane in the evening, and although I wanted to see it, I'd forgotten we were going and couldn't be bothered in the end. I stayed home and had a Jonathan Creek marathon on Netflix!

Friday:
I didn't get up till nearly 11am on Friday! A very long lie-in for me, but it worked out well, as it was my first night back at work. I had Nutella on toast for breakfast brunch and a coffee. I finished placing an order on My Pure, as they had a 20% off a £40+ spend discount code. Along with that, I also got a 3 for £10 offer on Hurraw! lip balms and a free gift worth £17! After a quick shower, hoover and tidy, I sat down to catch up on some blog-reading. I had a late lunch of soup and a crusty roll (we buy them fresh and if there's any leftover, I microwave them for 30 secs the next day to soften them again).

We later had a mocha coffee each and I had a chocolate cupcake. I watched a couple of episodes of Jonathan Creek and deep-cleaned the dishwasher. We had pizza for tea and watched the first episode of Penny Dreadful. Dean fell asleep on the sofa, so I stuck on more Jonathan Creek before getting ready for work later.

What did you get up to this week?

  1. Oooh sounds like you have had a good week. That butternut squash soup looks amazing, I could just eat that with a bread roll! The day out with a friend looks lovely, very picturesque and the lambs are so cute. Walking can be a nice way to relax and enjoy the scenery. Glad you are getting into Tomb Raider, I sometimes play on The Sims but haven’t got round to it for a while. Those chocolate cupcakes look yummy, I love salted caramel! :-) xx
