This has been on my wish list for ages. The price put me off at first, but it sounded perfect for my sensitive combination skin. However, I wasn't willing to pay £4.95 P&P on top of the product price, and as I wasn't going to be near a NYR store for a while, I had a look on eBay and found it here for £22.50 plus free P&P! I'm not very keen on the scent and I can't really describe it, but it's definitely soothing and very hydrating. It does leave my skin a little too oily if I'm not applying make-up on top of it.
Tisserand Tea Tree Anti Blemish Roller Ball,
I purchased this to help clear up and prevent blemishes. I can't say whether it's helped or not, as I haven't been using it very long. It does have quite a strong tea tree/herbal scent. I like to apply this overnight, underneath my moisturiser.
Neve Cosmetics Occhioni Black Mascara, £10.95/10.5ml
When this arrived, I was concerned that it had dried up, and who knows, perhaps it had? But the semi-dry formula, coupled with the unusual brush shape, seems to produce a great product; no clumping or flaking and best of all, no irritation. With my previous mascara, my eyes always started to sting and become uncomfortable after a long period of wear.
Bodhi & Birch Ylang Ylang Bath & Shower Therapy,
I've loved using this sample size for baths. It has a lovely scent and creates lots of bubbles. I feel the scent may be too over-powering to use in the shower.
Hurraw! Coconut Lip Balm, £3.99/4.3g
I knew I loved this after the first swipe on my lips! It has a gorgeously sweet coconut scent and a silky, smooth formula which leaves a lovely sheen on your lips. It feels really nourishing and hydrating and is vegan-friendly. I can't wait to try more from this brand!
This is a great everyday conditioner and is the best one of all the ranges I've tried. I love the natural coconut scent and it leaves my hair soft, smooth and hydrated, reducing frizz. See my full review here.
The Raw Chocolate Pie Co. Raw Chocolate Peppermint Pie, £2.25/60g
This was very, very rich, with a biscuit-like texture and a strong peppermint flavour. It was too rich for my liking, but Dean really liked it, much to my surprise! The bar would be too much for one sitting, and I halved it to split with Dean. I think a quarter at once was enough!
The Raw Chocolate Pie Co. Raw Chocolate Nut Pie, £2.25/60g
This bar had the same biscuit-like texture, and although still quite rich, it was a little lighter than the peppermint bar. This had a pleasantly nutty taste. Again, a quarter at once was enough.
I also picked up a free sample of Pukka's After Dinner tea. I wasn't expecting to like it, but it was quite nice and warming.
Forever 21 Cable Knit Turtleneck Sweater, £21
I recently featured this on a wish list, went to buy it, and it was out of stock! But thankfully, it came back in stock, so I snapped it up! It looks so cosy and stylish.
5th Avenue Striped Bow Shoulder Bag, £17.99 (out of stock)
A while back, I spotted this bag on the Deichmann website, but there was no "add to bag" option. I emailed the company and they said it was only available in stores and that it would not be back in stock online again. But, to my delight, it did appear online again and it was available to purchase! I bought it immediately and am so happy with it! It was such a bargain at under £20.
I also picked up some new cushion covers for the sofa. I'm really into grey and different textures, so I purchased two silver crushed velvet covers from Dunelm Mill for £9.99 each, along with two cushions to place inside, which were just £2.99 each and are really plump and good quality. I got two grey chevron cushion covers from eBay at £2.89 each and placed some old cushion pads inside them - they were quite flat but luckily I had four spare, so each cover has two pads stuffed in there to bulk them out a bit!
What did you pick up during September?
Please could you take the time to comment below to let me know whether you prefer these monthly purchases posts or if you would rather see smaller haul posts throughout the month? I'm thinking of changing to the latter, so your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
