The Konjac Sponge Co. French Pink Clay Facial Puff Sponge

About the brand:
The Konjac Sponge Co. is the original and largest Konjac sponge company, providing high quality, hand-made Konjac products worldwide. Their Konjac is grown on the fertile volcanic hills of Jeju Island in South Korea; a UNESCO world heritage protected site, and renowned as a pristine area of outstanding beauty, reputed to have some of the purest water in the world! Being Vegan Society and Leaping Bunny certified, you can be sure to place your trust in this cruelty-free brand! With sponges for your face, body, babies, and pets, there is literally a sponge for everyone!
I was really intrigued by the concept of a Konjac sponge, so I popped this on my Christmas wish list last year and my younger sister kindly got one for me! The sponge is very soft and springy in your hand - it's also the perfect size for your face. It has a flat and a round side, plus an attached string to hang up to dry after use. It doesn't have any particular scent about it, which is nice.

This feels so soft and relaxing to use on my face, but it also gently exfoliates to remove dry and dead skin. I used my sponge without any added cleanser so that I could measure up the pure properties of the sponge. I wouldn't say my skin changed in any dramatic way, but it didn't get any worse, either! With the daily light exfoliation, my dry patches reduced and the sponge did not irritate my skin in any way at all. One great bonus was that my redness reduced slightly! This sponge is an extremely gentle option for the most sensitive of skins. As you don't need to use a cleanser with it, this is also a great money-saving option. I now only use a facial cleanser product to remove my make-up. I won't use the sponge for this purpose as I wouldn't like to dirty it with old make-up!

Depending on how well you care for them, the sponges should last around 2-3 months. Mine lasted around two months before looking tired and getting mouldy; I completely put this down to being stored in the bathroom, therefore never getting to dry out completely or air properly. My next sponge will be stored elsewhere and will hopefully last longer! You can also store the sponges in a fridge, but I would worry about it absorbing food smells.

I really enjoyed my Konjac sponge experience and am now a complete convert! I've already re-purchased one which will be featured in my June purchases post at the end of the month/start of next.

100% natural vegetable fibre from Konjac potatoes with added French pink clay.

Are you intrigued by this product or are you already a convert?!

  1. I completely love my Konjac sponge too. So easy & convient to use but does a really gold job at cleaning & exfoliating your face. Another great review ...:)

    1. Thank you. They're such a great product and so natural, too. :) xxx

  2. Hey Emma- Konjac Sponge Company HQ here! Great to hear you loved our sponge- thanks for the lovely review. As you mentioned, storing out of the bathroom is a good idea if its damp/ humid. Drying on a heated towel rail or radiator is ideal to help dry your sponge out quickly and help prolong the life of your sponge towards the 3 months (They will only ever go moldy if left too damp.) Anyway, thrilled to hear you are a convert (and probably now as soft as a baby) and we can't wait to hear what you think of your next sponge ;) If you have any queries please do get in touch, thanks again! x
