Creating A Capsule Wardrobe: Workwear (SS15 Edition)

High-five to Claire from xclaireabella for inspiring me to write this post!

Creating a capsule wardrobe of classic, timeless, good quality pieces is a very logical choice to make, and it will save you money in the long run.
Today I am focusing on workwear; these items will work particularly well if you are employed within an office/retail setting.
The base of your workwear outfit could start with a dress; like this navy White Stuff Envelope Dress, £55 £37. A classic shift dress is the perfect stylish option for the office, particularly in meetings, when you feel you need to dress really smartly, but still let your personality shine through. Depending on your body shape and personal style, you may find a sleeveless dress or a classic neckline will suit you better.
If you're opting for an outfit with a little more movement and a subtly relaxed feel, pairing the Pied a Terre Pleated Shirt, £69 £34.50, with loose yet stylish trousers like these Dorothy Perkins Plain Tie Waist Joggers, £20 £16, is a great choice; you'll feel comfortable all day, but will still look smart!
You could also pair the Oasis Honeycomb Stitch Jumper, £38, with this Warehouse Faux Leather Pencil Skirt, £42, for a balance between chic and comfort; mixing different textures and materials creates a depth to your outfit. Adding little touches like these Mood Set Of 3 Pearl, Crystal & Knot Earrings, £6 £4.80, or a statement necklace such as this Coast Snake Necklace, £25, will finish off your look perfectly. Remember, you can always add colour to your outfit in the form of accessories or jewellery, but choose small splashes of colour rather than blocks. Both tops can be paired with either the skirt or trousers.
Your footwear choices should be simple, stylish, and comfortable. These ASOS Signed For Pointed Heels, £32, will work well with the rest of your wardrobe; they are a classic black heeled shoe with delicate ankle straps and a stylish cut-out detail. If you prefer a flat shoe, these ZARA Ankle-Strap Flats, £29.99, will give you a really stylish option for work; you could also swap the heels with these mid-day, or for travelling to and from work, if you need a more comfortable option.
Choosing neutral outerwear is a must; go for nudes, tans, navy or black, with a classic, timeless cut and style. The Dorothy Perkins Waterfall Jacket, £45 £36, is a great layering item, and could be worn indoors as well as outdoors. The waterfall shape and the soft blush pink colour will really complement your neutral colour palette and will flatter your figure. The Marks and Spencer Buttonsafe Pure Cotton Mac with Stormwear, £85, would be your everyday outerwear choice. The neutral colour will work with the rest of your wardrobe and the classic cut will inject style and elegance into your look. Make the most of this blank canvas by adding pretty, patterned scarves such as this New Look Floral Print Snood, £7.99. Finish off your look with a classic, medium sized handbag, like this Dune Grab Bag, £55 £39.99.

And there you have it; a capsule workwear wardrobe with select pieces that work in harmony with each other!
