About the brand:
Butter London was founded in 2005 by Sasha Muir. They are a cruelty-free, BUAV-approved brand and their nail products are free from toulene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, and DBP. As well as their extensive nail polish and treatments collection, they also have a range of make-up products, which are free from parabens and phthalates.

I suffer from hangnails quite often, and this is mainly down to me subconsciously picking the skin around my nails - most likely when I'm nervous, bored, or stressed! So, this can affect whether the cuticle remains intact. Sometimes my cuticles can appear "recessed" from the nail, and they can become dry. I bought this cuticle oil ages ago, but have only just gotten round to using it regularly.

The first thing you need to know about this cuticle oil is that it smells amazing! A truly tropical cocktail of pineapples and coconuts - now I get the apt "Handbag Holiday" name! The formula is a thin oil, which is applied with the nail brush - just like applying nail polish. I swipe the oil across each set of nails and then gently massage the oil into my cuticles and nail area. The oil won't completely absorb, but it doesn't leave your skin feeling really greasy, either. This is best applied just before bed, so that there's no chance of washing it away, and then it can get to work overnight!

With frequent daily use, I found my recessed cuticles grew back nicely, and the surrounding nail area improved in overall condition. I do suffer from very dry, irritable hands, so I need to apply hand cream regularly to keep not only my hands, but also the skin around my nails, moisturised and soft.

Have you tried any cuticle oils? How did they perform?
