Montagne Jeunesse Black Seaweed Peel Off Masque | Review

I recently placed my first order with Montagne Jeunesse, after discovering that they are a BUAV-approved, cruelty-free brand, and purchased myself some exciting products. They also pride themselves on creating their products using all-natural ingredients. All of their products are suitable for use by vegetarians. The first product I used was this face mask:
P3260002
Black Seaweed Peel Off Masque, £1/10ml

This face mask claims to deeply cleanse and detox your skin. It is suggested that you cleanse your skin and then apply the face mask, leaving it on for 15-20 minutes before gently peeling off. This face mask contains chopped black Laver seaweed from the Welsh seaside and crushed Sea Buckthorn berries.
P3260007
Firstly, this face mask was very messy! The 10ml sachet gave a good, even coverage. The scent was not unpleasant, but not wonderful either; a marine scent which wasn't over-powering. If you have long nails, wear gloves to apply this as it gets under your nails really easily and is a pain to remove!
I left the mask on for approximately 15 minutes and then proceeded to "peel" it off. Well, only a few small sections peeled off successfully. The rest of the mask hadn't appeared to have set properly and so I was just scraping it off.
I imagine that leaving it on for a further 5 minutes could have avoided this problem. I finished by washing my face in the shower with a face cloth to ensure I had removed all of the mask.
Despite the peel-off problem, the mask worked successfully in cleansing my skin and my pores appeared visibly clearer and reduced, particularly on my cheeks and chin area. I feel that if the mask had peeled off correctly, I would have seen even better results.

This product is a complete bargain at just £1 and I would recommend it if you don't mind the mess!
I was also impressed with their delivery costs; just £1 P&P per order and it's free if you spend over £15!
Unfortunately I won't be re-purchasing this particular face mask due to the messiness of it!

I look forward to trying out the other products I purchased and sharing my thoughts with you!

Have you tried this face mask before?

The Cookie Jar #06: Peanut Butter Cookies | Food

Today from the Classic Cookies section, we have the Peanut Butter Cookie.
P3270009
P3270010
peanutcookie1
These were really easy to make, just a bit time-consuming with the 2+ hours chilling time! They taste lovely but turned out a little dry. This could be because I cooked them for an extra 5 minutes as I found the mixture very wet before cooking. Also, due to the mixture being so wet, it was very difficult to create the criss-cross patterns as the fork was just lifting the mixture.
Let me know if you try out this tasty recipe!

P3240011
Today I will be showing you my collection of cruelty-free skin care products. I hope I've remembered everything! I'll be doing a separate post on body care products (shower gels, body scrubs e.t.c.). I'm not sure foot care products belong in this post, but never mind!
P3240007
Soap & Glory Heel Genius Foot Cream, £5.50/125ml
I'm currently trialling this for an upcoming review, so I can't say much on it at the moment. It claims to smooth and soften feet overnight.
Deep Steep Candy Mint Deodorizing Foot Mist, £8.95/177ml
This is a lovely, refreshing product. I love the peppermint scent and it's great for either spraying directly onto your feet or spraying into shoes for a freshen up. It's brilliant if you are on your feet a lot - at work or at home!
The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner, £8/200ml
This alcohol-free toner seems to be doing its job just fine. It is refreshing, cleansing and calming. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, which is wonderful!
The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Day Cream, £13/50ml
This is a lovely, soothing and nourishing moisturiser. It has a lovely botanical scent too. It's great for Autumn and Winter, but I'm finding it a little too heavy now that the warmer weather has arrived.
Lulu & Boo Melissa and Mallow Foot Balm, £11.50/50ml
I love this luxurious foot treatment! Great for aching, tired feet. Check out my review here.
The Body Shop Elderflower Eye Gel, £7/15ml
This unperfumed eye gel is great for tired, puffy eyes. It is cooling and soothing and doesn't irritate my delicate eye area at all.
P3240008

This night cream has a gorgeous botanical scent and is really moisturising and nourishing.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum, £11/30ml
This is perfect for applying underneath a light moisturiser. I apply this to any dry areas on my face. This smells divine!
Salcura Antiac Deep Cleansing Liquid Spray, £9.99/50ml
I haven't been using this for a while, but perhaps I should start using it again so I can do a review for you! It claims to purify, soothe and calm the skin and is targeted at people with acne-prone skin.
Amie All Clear Instant Action Spot Clearing Gel, £4.95/15ml
This gel helps clear blemishes fast and also calms and soothes them. Check out my review here.

This face mask softens and cleanses the skin and promises to remove excess oil. Check out my review here.
Soap & Glory Hand Food Hydrating Hand Cream, £5.50/125ml
You all know how much I (and everyone else!) love this hand cream. It's lovely and moisturising and doesn't irritate my sensitive hands. The best part is its beautiful scent!
The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash, £8/100ml
This facial wash cleans my skin really well and it helps calm any blemishes. This has had no ill effects on my sensitive skin.
The Body Shop Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator, £/75ml
I love this product! It's a great facial exfoliator that is not harsh at all, but is still effective. It's cleansing, smoothing and really refreshing. It doesn't have the best scent, but I don't mind.
LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub, £5.50/25g
This is a lovely, sweet product. A simple lip scrub which is best used daily to keep lips smooth and prepped for lipstick! It has a lovely scent/flavour; just like bubblegum candyfloss!

Brand Focus: Seasalt | Fashion

I discovered Seasalt a few months back, whilst browsing in a local department store. The Seasalt brand was born in Penzance, Cornwall, in 1981. Since then, the brand has grown and now has 16 shops in the UK, which can be found in Cornwall, Devon, Guernsey, the Isles of Scilly and West Sussex.
The inspiration for all their wonderful designs comes from their beautiful surroundings; "With offices overlooking Falmouth Bay to St. Anthony's lighthouse, every day we're inspired to design garments that speak about the place in which we live."

Seasalt produces womenswear, menswear and homeware. Today, I'll be focusing on the womenswear.

This fun cami would look great with denim shorts on a hot Summer's day. Team with an ice-cream cone for ultimate impact!
Rooftop Dress
Rooftop Dress, £55
I love this 2-in-1 style dress. A truly Nautical piece, with a Breton-striped bodice and a boat-print skirt. I love the red rope waist tie!

This 1950's style lightweight, figure-flattering tea dress features buttons down the front and a pleated skirt. The gorgeous print is inspired by the working boats that race in Falmouth Bay.

The Wedding Diaries: Part Three | Personal

(Part One | Part Two)

Hi guys! I'm back in business, woohoo! It was so boring not being able to blog, but having that small break gave me lots of new post ideas, so it's not all bad!
It's only a matter of about five weeks until I get wed, so I thought I'd give you another wedding update!

My florist sent me pictures of the artificial flowers she ordered from her wholesalers for my bouquets. She put them together quickly just for a rough idea and there will be foliage and filler flowers added later. I'm pretty happy with them, but I'm not 100% sure about the pale pink flowers; what do you think? My two bridesmaids will have the same mixed bouquet as me, just in a smaller size. For the three bouquets, it's costing me £66, which I think is pretty good compared to other prices I've seen.

2014 04 17 17 44 24
My sisters went dress shopping the other day with my Mum, but didn't have much luck. There weren't many purple dresses around, so they didn't get anything. We will now have to go down the online route... Or we could look into hiring them. Please do let me know if you know of any reliable online retailers for good quality bridesmaid dresses!
On the plus side, my Mum found herself a lovely dress for the day!

There are only a few rooms left at the hotel for the wedding night as a lot of our guests are staying there. Sounds like it'll be a big family breakfast!
Communications still aren't brilliant and I've expressed my concerns to the hotel that I haven't heard anything from the disco people, as the hotel has arranged that. Also, the disco company's website has disappeared... Slightly worried! I think I should look for a back-up disco!
All day and evening invites have been sent out, although we still have some evening invitations to make via Facebook.
We have a ceremony rehearsal with the registrar on the Monday morning before the wedding, and we are meeting the photographer at the hotel in the afternoon, to run through the day. This will also give us the chance to meet with the hotel owner and look around the venue.

I ordered and received the men's buttonholes via an eBay seller; five ivory roses with diamante centres. They cost just £1.75 per buttonhole, so I think they are really good value for money!
I also purchased ivory ribbon and bows for the car. My Dad is driving me to the venue in his old Porsche (I can't remember the model!) and as it's a dark blue colour, so I thought ivory would be more suitable than purple.
I had a great idea for the evening reception; a sweet table! Like a pick 'n' mix table with jars of sweets and striped paper bags. I found all the supplies I would need and the cost would come under £100. Dean is against the idea because he wants to spend as little as possible so that we have money left for other things. So, my compromise is that we get a couple of these cute sweet trees to go on the table with either the cake or the sandwiches, tea and coffee:
They are something different and look really pretty. This one has pink and white marshmallows and Maltesers. I haven't ordered any yet, but I think I will end up ordering two of these ones. They cost £9 each excluding postage. Do you like these?

We've sent off our marriage notices and witness forms, along with our birth certificates and the £70 cheque for the marriage certificate and the notices.
Laura has arranged the hairdresser for the day, as the one she originally suggested didn't have space for all of us on the day. So, instead we have a hairdresser coming over to Mum's house in the morning to do everyone's hair. Just one problem: she can't do any trials as she's on holiday until the end of the week. So, I will try and get a trial done down here, just so I'm sure of what I want on the day. Also, her prices are very reasonable; £10-£20 for hair up.

For my Hen do, Laura is arranging an Intoxicating Tea Party on the Thursday night before the wedding, at her house, with close family only; sisters, Aunties, cousins, Mum and Dean's Mum.
I'm also having a little hen do down here, next friday. Myself and about seven other girls and going out for a meal at the Indian and then having a few drinks in the local pub.
I'm not sure what Dean wants to do for his Stag; probably a day out Paintballing or something like that!

I actually can't believe it's just five weeks until I become Mrs Everleigh! My brain is doing a great job in stressing me out, giving me wedding-related dreams (more like nightmares!) and making me doubt whether I've done everything. All fun, of course...
I will be up in Scotland in just four weeks! I can't wait to see all my family and best friends. And I can't wait to meet little Imogen!

Let me know if there are any little wedding details I may have missed!
