Today's Outfit | Fashion

Hi guys! Today we were in Yeovil to browse round the shops and we had a lovely lunch at Frankie & Benny's. I may have purchased a couple of fashion-related items which I'm sure will feature on the blog soon! I have to say I was pretty disappointed with Primark as I didn't see much pastel colours around.
I also popped into Beales to get a shade match for a Clinique foundation - the one I had been recommended through the online consultation was far too dark for me so I wouldn't recommend making a purchase online unless you already know your shade! I got a 5-day free sample of one from the anti-blemish range which I will be testing out before I make a full-size purchase. I thought it was about time I invested in a decent foundation, especially with the wedding coming up.

Here's what I wore today:

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm back to work tonight for the next seven nights and I'm also on baby alert as my sister is currently in hospital waiting to be induced; exciting!

Tonight's Outfit | Fashion

Tonight we went to The Green Man pub in King Stag for Dean's belated birthday meal, along with his parents and brother. The food and service was brilliant. Unfortunately we were so stuffed from the starters and mains that we didn't get to try a dessert - good excuse for another visit!

How To Wear Oriental Prints: Three Looks | Fashion

What a strange day of sunshine, rain and hail! Dean and I went off to Sherborne for a browse round the shops. If you've never been there, you must go as there are lots of little gift shops and cute places. We bought a take-away lunch at a little cafe and we also bought a Thai chicken dish from one of the market stalls which was lovely. As we were parked in Sainsbury's, we popped in for a quick browse before heading home. We discovered a peanut butter instant hot drink - yum! We also treated ourselves to a "fine piece" each (in English - a sweet treat from the bakery!). I got an amazingly delicious chocolate cupcake which was so good I had to Instagram it - link in the sidebar.

Today's post is focused on the Oriental print which has blossomed onto the shop shelves for the next season. I think the best way of wearing this print is to make sure the rest of your outfit is toned down, making the item showcasing the Oriental print the main focus of your look. I've created three looks to show how you could wear this pretty print.

Look #1:
This look focuses on the gorgeous, printed cigarette trousers. Printed trousers can be a difficult look to pull off (I'm yet to try some!), but by choosing the right accessories and colour palette, you can look stunning! I've matched the clutch and shoes to the gorgeous fuchsia shade in the trousers and I've kept the top really simple and the jewellery in a neutral silver with interesting textures.
Oriental Prints #1
Trousers, £38 | Top, £18 | Clutch, £45 £27 | Loafers, £12 | Earrings, £8 | Bracelet, £12
Total Outfit Cost: £115

Look #2:
The focal point of this outfit is the gorgeous shirt featuring a pretty, delicate Oriental print. I've kept the accessories quite simple, adding texture with the glittered flats. This shirt would also look great in an evening look.
Oriental Print #2
Shirt, £42 | Jeans, £22.99 | Bag, £37 | Flats, £18 £14.40 | Earrings, £6
Total Outfit Cost: £122.39

Look #3:
This outfit is great for a dinner date or night out. The Oriental print dress speaks for itself, so I have teamed it with black bow detail shoes, burnt-orange earrings, a fuchsia-coloured textured clutch and a black blazer with a subtle jacquard print.
Oriental Print #3
Dress, £44 | Blazer, £30 | Clutch, £30 | Shoes, £29 | Earrings, £6
Total Outfit Cost: £139

The Wedding Diaries: Part Two | Personal

(Part One)

Hi guys, I hope the sun was shining for you today! It was here so we decided to have a walk around Badbury Rings and then head into Blandford for a look round the shops and to order our wedding rings. Unfortunately we did get caught in a few rain showers!

It's been a couple of months since my first Wedding Diaries post, so I thought it was time for another update.

I have found my wedding shoes, hurray!
IMG 0469
Bow Embellished Ballerinas, £26 @ Next
Not your usual bridal footwear but these are just what I was looking for. They are a nude/blush-pink colour with metal bow embellishments. These are great because I can keep them for use after the wedding day!

Our wedding invitations were ordered recently via a lovely eBay seller residing on the Isle of Wight. These are a few samples we ordered from various sellers:

and these are the finished products:
IMG 0535
IMG 0536
The handmade day invitations cost £1.45 each and the evening invitations were just £1.49 for a box of 10 (15p each!) in The Card Factory - bargain! I love the glittery purple butterflies and the font used for our names.

Our cake design will be like this one below, only with purple and silver butterflies and purple ribbon. We will be having just two tiers; one with vanilla sponge, cream and jam, and one with chocolate sponge and chocolate filling (for me, obviously)!

My two beautiful nieces are being our flower girls and they have their dresses, which also feature butterflies on the bodice.
These were from BHS and cost £35 each (purchased by Laura). We wanted the sashes in purple but they were out of stock so my sister, Laura, suggested purple hair accessories which we will be looking into. I am also planning on getting them a little basket each with purple flower petals to scatter up the aisle.
Dean got his wedding ring today; a 9ct white gold rolled edge 4mm plain band, £39.99 from Argos. I tried a couple but couldn't decide on the width as 2mm was too thin and the 3mm one I tried looked thicker than Dean's! We will be checking them again on Friday at a different store. We are choosing Argos as they have budget-friendly options and we both only want plain white gold bands. We always have the option to replace them in the future if we wish.

I am struggling to find bouquets as all the purple ones on eBay appear too dark - almost blue - and I want a mixture of purple throughout the wedding. Laura found these flowers in their local garden centre, which are gorgeous and I am going to try and find a replica of these in a bridal bouquet size.
IMG 0470
The bridesmaids will either have these also or ivory flowers, possibly with diamantes. The reason I'd prefer artificial flowers is so that I can keep them forever.
If anyone has any online recommendations for artificial florists, please comment below!

I hope you've enjoyed this wedding post! Only 13 weeks on Saturday... yikes!

How To Wear Pink: Three Looks | Fashion

Pink is one of the biggest SS14 colours and there are so many amazing pieces to choose from. If, like me, you don't tend to wear many bright colours, then pastel pink will be right up your street! I've created three looks focusing on the pastel pink shade and showing you how you can easily introduce it to your wardrobe.

Look #1:
This outfit is really feminine and flirty. The blush-pink skater dress features a textured fabric and black piping. The pastel pink statement necklace adds the glam factor, while the bow detail nude heels and belt add a cute touch. With the sharp blazer and eye-catching beaded clutch, this outfit would be perfect for a dinner date or night out!
Pink #1
Dress, £20 | Blazer, £27.99 | Shoes, £25 | Clutch, RRP £48 £12.99 | Belt, £10 | Necklace, £29
Total Outfit Cost: £124.98

Look #2:
This outfit is perfect for a sunny day in Spring. The cable knit jumper will keep you warm, while the gorgeous pearl twist necklace adds a luxe touch to the look. The nude glittered flats add some fun and the amazing multi-coloured beaded bag finishes the look wonderfully.
Pink #2
Jumper, £14 | Jeans, £20 | Flats, £18 | Bag, £35 | Necklace, £25 | Sunglasses, £25
Total Outfit Cost: £137

Look #3:
With a few accessory tweaks, this look could take you from day to night with ease. I love the pastel colours in the leopard print top and the opulence of the drop earrings. The silver clutch and heels add some sparkle!
Look #3
Top, £12 | Jeans, £38 | Shoes, £32 £25.60 | Clutch, £22 | Earrings, £8

A Trip To Liberty's Owl, Raptor & Reptile Centre | Lifestyle

Hi guys! Just a quick post this evening!
Today we went to Liberty's Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre near Ringwood, Hampshire. It was quite a sunny day and not a drop of rain in sight! It was damn chilly though! First we looked around at the birds, including eagles, vultures and owls.

We then watched a show-and-tell in the Reptile Room. Little did I know this would involve a tarantula and three different snakes being show to us and being literally inches away from my face! I have a great phobia of spiders but I was actually more uncomfortable around the wriggling snakes! They also showed us a huge snake which they placed on the floor for us to look at (from a safe distance in my case, of course!). Then we saw a flying display with four different birds which was great and very informative.

(Sugarpuff, my favourite owl!)

My camera died pretty quickly so I used my phone for most of the photos. After the flying display we went to the closest McDonald's for a late lunch/early tea then headed home. When I got home I made myself a bath with my lovely new raspberry bubble bath from The Highland Soap Co. as I hadn't warmed up yet, so I had a nice long soak while reading a book! We're off out tomorrow evening and probably Thursday evening, so hopefully I'll get a few outfit posts up!
