Tonight's Outfit | Fashion

To celebrate Mother's Day, we went out for a meal tonight at The Green Man pub in King's Stag, Dorset with Dean's parents.

Here's what I wore:
Jumper Dress, Roman | Leopard Flats, Asda | Necklace, eBay

It was one of those "I've got nothing to wear!" occasions, so I ended up picking out this lovely dip-dye jumper dress which I hadn't worn for a while, plus with the warmer weather coming in, soon I won't be able to wear this as it will be too warm. I wore it with black tights and simple, leopard print flats - which I really must replace as they're looking rather tired - and my new statement necklace, which after ordering from China via eBay, finally arrived after about five weeks of waiting. It cost just £2.59 and looks stunning. The quality isn't brilliant but it's okay; what can you expect for the price?! It's going to be a great piece for Spring/Summer with it's "peaches and cream" colourway! Overall, I think this outfit looks pretty good, although the choice of footwear makes it a little unbalanced! I must get myself some heels!

What did you do for Mother's Day?
Remember, you can now follow me on Instagram! I'm currently taking part in the #100happydays challenge; why not join in too?!

The Cookie Jar #02: Classic Oatmeal Cookies | Food

Hi guys! Welcome to the second installment of The Cookie Jar series.
From the Classic Cookies section, today we have the Classic Oatmeal Cookie.
This was a simple recipe with easily accessible ingredients. This is quite a dry mixture so I would suggest enjoying these cookies cold with a hot drink. You may also enjoy adding a drizzle of honey or syrup to your cookie before eating. An optional variation to the recipe suggests adding sultanas to the mix, which I would suggest doing to make the cookies a little less dry.

Will you be making these classic cookies?

Oasis have an amazing selection of items right now; there are lots of gorgeous floral pieces and beautiful arm candy just waiting to be snapped up!
I've put together three looks, using items which are all available to purchase on the Oasis website.

Look #1:
This look has a basic base of jeans and a vest top, but by adding the sharp blazer, eye-catching jewellery and the statement shoes and clutch, you end up with this effortlessly chic outfit which will easily take you from day to night.
Oasis Look #1
Blazer, £40 | Vest Top, £10 | Jeans, £40 | Shoes, £55 | Clutch, £30 | Necklace, £20

Look #2:
With this second outfit, I was going for a relaxed workwear look which could be worn in or out of the office; with the bright, bold accessories and cool, laid-back shirt dress, this outfit is a really versatile look. I think chartreuse and fuchsia are two colours which work extremely well together.

Look #3:
This look is also really versatile; I could see this look being worn in the office, on a lunch date, or even on a super-stylish shopping trip! Using a base of monochrome pieces, this outfit has that glamorous, luxe feel to it and the animal-print accessories give it that perfect finishing touch.
Oasis Look #3

Weddings On A Budget: Bridal Shoes | Lifestyle

Following on from my first post in this series, which featured wedding favours on a budget, today I am focusing on the bride's footwear. Personally, I feel spending a lot of money on the wedding shoes is a bit of a waste because in most cases, no-one ever really sees the bride's shoes!
I have picked out an array of affordable choices for your big day, all costing under £50 each.
1. Bow Embellished Ballerinas, £26 @ Next
If you've been following my personal wedding diary then you'll already know that these pretty flats are what I'll be wearing on my feet for my wedding! They are nude so will be able to be used after the wedding and they have enough sparkle and embellishment to give them a special touch for your big day.
2. Ivory Lace Embellished Pumps, £39.50 by Red Herring @ Debenhams
These flats feature a lace overlay and are embellished with a satin bow and gorgeous gemstones.
3. Ivory Satin Flat Ballerina Pumps, £22 @ BHS
These sophisticated flats are made from a satin fabric and feature a ruched bow to the front with a silver clasp featuring gemstones and pearls.
1. Ivory Lehman Formal Shoes, £59.99 £45 by Lotus @ House Of Fraser
These elegant heels feature a satin upper and a gorgeous bow tied around the peep-toe.
2. Concealed Platform Peeptoe Heels, £15 @ Matalan
These metallic-silver shoes will give you the sparkle factor for less, plus they can be worn after the big day!
1. Ruby Lace Platform Heeled Shoes, £45 £22.50 @ BHS
These lace-covered high heels will be perfect if your dress is also lace. These also features twin satin strap fastenings with diamante buckle detail.
2. Gemma Mesh Trim Court Shoes, £22 @ Boohoo

Please let me know if there are any specific items you'd like me to cover in the Weddings On A Budget series and I'll do my best to feature them for you.

#BNCproject: My Top 5 Cruelty-Free Products | Beauty

Following on from my first BNC post which featured my FOTD, here is the latest feature: my top five cruelty-free products. I'd love for you to take part in this wonderful project and to find out your top five cruelty-free products!
Treacle Moon Ice Cream Soda Bath & Shower Gel, £2.99/500ml
I finally managed to get my hands on this! It is just divine. The scent is so sweet you almost want to eat it! It really does smell like ice-cream soda. The scent lingers on your skin for a while after use too. I've only used this as a shower gel so far as I find them not as impressive in the bath.
LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub, £5.50/25g
This little pot of pink goodness smells just like candyfloss! It helps get rid of dry skin on your lips and is particularly good for prepping them before applying lipstick. This pot will last you ages! I'd love to try the Popcorn one too.
The Body Shop Chocomania Body Scrub, £12.50/200ml
This is quite messy to use but it smells just like chocolate brownies so it's worth getting splashes of it all over the bathtub! It does a great job of gently removing dead skin cells and it leaves you with a sheeny layer on your skin which is soft to touch and smells divine for some time after use. I'd love to get the Chocomania body butter to use alongside this scrub.
Dr. Bronner's Organic Lip Balm in Peppermint, £3/4g
This is truly my favourite lip balm. The peppermint scent is lovely and refreshing and it is so soothing on your lips. Hours after applying this, it can feel like I've only just used it because it doesn't need constant re-applying throughout the day. I would really recommend this product and it's available in different scents. I wouldn't recommend the Naked unscented version because I found it not very pleasant in scent or taste and it didn't seem as beneficial as the Peppermint version.
e.l.f. Flawless Eyeshadow in Happy Hour, £2.50/6g
This is a very new addition to my make-up bag, but I'm already in love with it! The colour pigmentation is great and I just love the instructive palette design. This particular colourway is perfect for Spring.

Today's Outfit | Fashion

Hi guys! I've had what's felt like such a busy day. I worked last night and grabbed just three hours sleep before getting ready to go back into work this afternoon for a meeting RE my coursework which lasted an hour and a half. Soon after arriving home, Dean and I went to Co-op for some ingredients for tea (I'm making fish pie!) and I've only just sat down now to quickly write this post before I get on with making tea. I'm sure tomorrow will be a nice, relaxing day... What have you been up to today?

Here's what I'm wearing:
IMG 0586
IMG 0619
Lilac Jumper, BHS | Skinny Jeans, Next | Umbrella-Print Mac, Primark | Boots, JustFab | Pearl Necklace, eBay | Bag, Osprey

The jeans are a recent purchase which I don't think have been featured on the blog yet. They are from Next are are super soft, great quality and pretty comfortable (if a little restrictive at first). Sporting my umbrella-print mac again today for the bursts of rain showers we've been having; it's such a fun item that it brings a smile to my face when I'm wearing it!

See you tomorrow!

The Cookie Jar #01: Chocolate Chip Cookies | Food

Welcome to The Cookie Jar series! Dean got me a cookie recipe book for Christmas and I thought this would be a great opportunity to add some food-related content to the blog. The recipe book contains 80 cookie recipes and I plan to post one cookie recipe each Sunday. This will prove to be quite a challenge, but I'm hoping I can do it! Having the series on here should motivate me to bake at least one batch of cookies per week.
Wish me luck!

So, first up from the Classic Cookies section, we have the ultimate classic cookie, the Chocolate Chip Cookie!
This was a really simple recipe. I would favour milk chocolate chips over the plain chocolate chips or you could even have white chocolate chips. My cookies spent 12 minutes in the oven and came out lovely and crisp on the edges while soft and delicious in the middle! These received a thumbs up all round!

Will you be making these super easy chocolate chip cookies?

Yesterday's Outfit | Fashion

Hi guys! I hope you're having a lovely weekend so far. We had great thunder and lightning last night; so close that everything inside shook! It's been nice and sunny today but we are due lots of rain this coming week.
Yesterday evening we made a quick dash to Co-op to get some bits for tea. It was just starting to rain so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to wear my new umbrella-print mac from Primark!
Animal-Print Tunic, Asda | Leggings, Asda | Mac, Primark | Boots, JustFab

This cost just £9 and I think it's so darn cute! Very practical without compromising on the style front. Great for Spring/Summer when it's a bit chilly outside or raining. It's extremely lightweight and also can be folded into its own pocket so you can pop it inside your handbag for when it's needed. You have the option to wear the sleeves as pictured above or full length.

Keep an eye out for my other recent purchases which will be featured soon.
