Tonight's Outfit | Fashion

So tonight was my Mother-in-law-to-be's birthday! We went to The Plough Inn in Manston, Dorset and had really nice meal. Unfortunately they were having their first ever bingo night, so it was pretty noisy! Never mind though, the food was good!
Here's what I wore:
Textured Top, New Look | Crepe Blazer, New Look | Jeans (similar), Dorothy Perkins | Bow Flats, Faith | Necklace, SGS

I wasn't overly happy with this outfit, but I didn't have time to change it. The jeans don't seem to work with the top half; perhaps it's the contrast stitching that stands out or just the fact that the pink top is annoyingly cropped and too short to cover the top of the jeans! I'm not very happy with the pink top due to the cropped element. I wore a vest underneath but it all seemed a little disjointed. Shame, really. I do love the blazer and the blue and pink go well together. A lighter wash jean would look better but I need to get myself a pair!

Any suggestions on how I can make this pink top work better?

  1. It actually looks lovely in the photos - you'd never tell it was too short. But I have been there with shorter tops and it's so annoying. Maybe a lace trim but you might find it hard to get a good colour match. Really loving the cobalt blue with pale pink x

Aww, thank you! Yes, it's a great colour combo. Perhaps I could try wearing it with high-waisted jeans. xxx

  3. You're so gorgeous! + I think the outfit looks lovely :) You really can't tell that it is too short, but I know that annoying feeling-maybe high waisted jeans or a high waisted skirt? Hope you had a lovely evening (despite the noise!) L xo

Aww, thank you so much, Lizzie! You're very kind. :) Yes, I'm thinking high-waisted jeans might do the trick! It was a really nice evening, thank you. xxx

  5. The pink top looks very nice, looks stylish and goes with the blazer superbly. I guess you are going to feel more comfortable with it if worn over a vest/body but I think wear it confidently cause it looks a treat !

I love the blue colour on you, and the necklace looks so pretty with the top. I also have things which are too short so I wear with a vest, but I know what you mean, sometimes it just doesn't feel right! Where is Manston? Abbi x

Thank you! :) Manston is a small village, about 2 miles from Sturminster Newton in Dorset. xxx
