Lulu & Boo Organics Melissa and Mallow Foot Balm | Review

Lulu & Boo Organics Melissa and Mallow Foot Balm, £10.95/50ml @ CutECOsmetics

With a frosted glass jar and pretty labelling, this product has a luxurious air about it. The product itself has a whipped, mousse-like texture and looks like pureed bananas. The formula is thick yet very light and easy to spread without having to use much product.
I was expecting this foot balm to have a lovely, sweet scent due to the marshmallow element, but alas, it doesn't. The scent is not unpleasant; it has a subtle tea tree oil scent.
Lulu & Boo Organics pride themselves on using the finest certified organic ingredients and never use SLS, Parabens, colourants or synthetic fragrances.
This foot balm is 100% Vegetarian and is made up of 93% organic ingredients which include tea tree essential oil, lemon essential oil, marshmallow extract and shea butter.
The foot balm is targeted towards users with dry feet and cracked heels. It's also effective on Athlete's Foot.
The balm should soften, moisturise and soothe tired feet. The lemon and tea tree oils hold anti-septic and anti-fungal properties.

I have been using the foot balm overnight (or in the day, while I sleep, if I've been working!) by applying all over my feet, giving extra special attention to my heels, soles and the sides of my toes. I then pop on thick socks to let the foot balm sink in slowly overnight.
When I wake up, my feet are very moisturised and soft to touch. The balm does feel really soothing when you are applying it; especially after a hard night's work where I've been on my feet for hours. I feel very relaxed and happy when applying this product, knowing that when I wake up, my feet will feel soothed and cared for.
I love the fact that this product is so eco-friendly and is free from nasty chemicals, but at £10.95 it is a tad expensive. However, I'm not using this every night and each application doesn't use up much product, so I can see this jar lasting quite some time. I imagine there are cheaper alternatives that basically do the same thing, but they might not be so eco-friendly and full of goodness! When I've finished this product, I may look for a cheaper alternative to test out and see how it squares up against this foot balm!

I've been browsing their official website and I can imagine there will be a few items from Lulu & Boo on my next Christmas wishlist!

  1. I'm surprised it has a tea tree scent, I was also expecting it to have a sweet scent. Ah well - tea tree is good too! Lovely, informative post as always! :) danielascribbles.blogspot.co.uk
