If you remember, back in September last year, I featured a few SS14 designer collections on the blog, focusing on the details. I featured Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler and Thakoon.
Now that all the new season fashion is arriving in all the stores, I thought I would continue this series, showing you the details of my favourite designer collections for Spring/Summer 2014.
Today we're looking at 3.1 Phillip Lim:
3.1 Phillip Lim's Spring/Summer 2014 collection was inspired by geology and landscape. A lot of earthy, muted tones were used but there were flashes of colour in amongst the collection too. The embroidered pieces captured the swirls of rock-like mineral formations. We see pearlised and patchworked leathers, subtle tie-dye, fringing and embellishment. I love the beautiful blue swirls on the top in the first image and I love the bag in the last image; it has an abstract animal print look to it and the colour palette, which includes yellow, will work well in the Spring.
